ASICS has teamed up again with our friends from UP THERE to bring you another collaboration.

On the cusp of dawn, just before the sun peeks over the horizon – around Australia the air is awash with the laughter of Kookaburras letting everyone know that morning has come. Whilst pop culture often associates the Koala and Kangaroo with Australia, the unmistakable sound of a Kookaburra's "laugh" is enough to transport any ex-pat Aussie back home in an instant.

An icon in it’s own right, the GEL-LYTE III OG is kitted out with the earthy tones of Kookaburra plumage, accented with flashes of vibrant blue. This combination is evocative of Kookaburras but also remains wearable thanks to careful consideration. The shoe acknowledges it’s historic roots through ingeniously adapted archival references, acting as hidden gems to be decoded by dedicated fans.

Representing more than just the sound of nature, it also calls to mind our penchant for a laidback lifestyle. Aussies aren’t ones to take themselves too seriously and, in a way, this indigenous bird exemplifies it through its infectious laugh.

The GEL-LYTE™ III OG sneaker features a mesh upper with rough cut suede overlays along with an ASICS x UP THERE branded tongue. With a custom shoe box, this collaboration also features reflective details, additional laces and archival-inspired patterns.
